VIVA – Around 200 swimmers take part in master swimming at the FAI 2022 or Indonesian Aquatic Festival in Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic Stadium at Jakarta on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
This master swimming is followed by senior swimmers aged 27 years and over, some even reach the age of 82 years.
One of the master swimming participants, Zoraya Perucha who is also the Head of Promotional Media of PB PRSI said that the master swimming competition can boost the body's immune system.
"Due to Covid-19, the 2022 FAI was absent for two years. This time the participants wanted to support the FAI as well as friendship with master swimmers as well as increase the body's immunity. But we are still working to maintain health according to the motto fit, fun and friendship," Zoraya Perucha explained.

One of the other participants who joined in the master class, Nadia Yusharyahya also enjoyed this swimming competition and was a cure for longing in the championship.
"I'm very happy after more than two years of not participating in the competition at the aquatic stadium, moreover the practice is also rare. So, this is a medicine for missing the championship. But we are still obeying the health protocol," Nadia Yusharyahya remarked.
In the women's category, there is the oldest swimmer, 82 years old. Kartini Sapardjiman from the Indo Master Swimmers club. Kartini is the mother of Anita Sapardjiman who is the Master Swimming Committee of PB PRSI.
In the male category, the oldest swimmer aged 82 years, Rahardjo DJojonegoro is also from the Indo Master Swimmers club.
