VIVA – On the commemoration of 77th Indonesia’s Independence Day, the Presidential Secretariat announced as many as 77,000 people can watch the ceremony online through a platform provided, including the flag-raising ceremony and the flag lowering ceremony on August 17, 2022 at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

As information, this year’s ceremony will be held in a hybrid format.

It is known, 2,500 invitees will attend the flag-raising ceremony and 2,500 invitees will attend the flag-lowering ceremony at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Head of the Protocol of the Presidential Secretariat M.Yusuf Permana said that the number will increase given the high public interest in Jakarta and outside Jakarta to take part in the ceremony.

“Even overseas Indonesians also want to attend the ceremony online,” Yusuf Permana added.

As information, those who register will be verified before receiving a confirmation message through WhatsApp and e-mail containing further information and provisions to attend the 77th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony, both virtually or on site.

“Moreover, the Presidential Secretariat will provide a variety of presents, including presents for the first 100 people attending the flag-raising ceremony and the first 100 people attending the flag-lowering ceremony. Exciting entertainment also will be offered,” Yusuf Permana explained.

Furthermore, the Presidential Secretariat’s Deputy for Protocol, Pers, and Media Bey Machmudin said that holding virtual ceremonies also has its own obstacles in creating an atmosphere as if the participants were attending the ceremony in the palace.
