VIVA – At the moment, Apple's major partner, Foxconn, has production lines in some other parts of the world besides China, such as India and Brazil. Apple will start production of the iPhone 14 at the same time in China and India.
The report comes from renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who revealed that at least one of the iPhone 14 models will be produced in India at the same time as production in China.
Quoting from the site 9to5mac, on Sunday, August 7, 2022, if this news is true, then, this will be the first time that production of the new generation iPhone will start in other countries along with China.
Ming-Chi Kuo also noted that under normal circumstances, production of new iPhones outside of China usually takes several months to start. For example, Foxconn started assembling the iPhone 13 in India in April this year, while production in Brazil began a few weeks later.
Obviously, iPhone production in other countries is not aimed at meeting global demand but to serve the local market.
According to Kuo, the iPhone 14 production capacity in India will not be enough to fill the gap caused by production challenges in China in the short term, but it is still quite important for Apple in terms of expanding iPhone production to other countries.

Apple has warned its suppliers of possible retaliation by the Chinese government against the United States after US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi's controversial visit to Taiwan.
Nancy Pelosi has held meetings with several Apple suppliers such as chipmaker TSMC and Taiwanese assembler Pegatron. Since then, there have been reports that China has blocked shipments from these companies.

By increasing iPhone production in India as well as in Brazil, Apple may be able to slowly reduce its dependence on China, although this will be quite difficult to achieve.
