Exhibition of Works by Disabilities Artists at G20 Side Event

VIVA – The Perempuan Tangguh Indonesia Foundation or PTI Foundation holds an exhibition of the work by disabilities artists in the G20 Presidency side event in the B20 Indonesia Digital Economy to Support Sustainable Development Goals in Nusa Dua, Bali on August 8, 2022.

The exhibition of works by disabilities artists in this B20 event includes paintings, clothes, bags and others.

Chairwoman II of PTI Foundation, Amy Wirabudi said the PTI Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs of the Republic of Indonesia had a common vision in empowering people with disabilities in developing the digital economy ecosystem, by conducting training.

"What we want to achieve is their independence. Now, we are all entering the digital era, we must be able to follow the progress of this technology," Amy Wirabudi remarked on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.

Amy added that PTI Foundation had conducted training for 126 people with disabilities in the Jakarta and Bandung areas.

PTI will also expand to other regions in Indonesia with the aim of producing a variety of products in the fields of culinary, make-up, painting, batik and making ceramics.

"And in 2022, we will enter the world of art. Because in our opinion, if we want to enter the digital era, it means that it is a world without boundaries that can penetrate anything," Amy Wirabudi added.

According to Amy, art is a universal language. She hopes that by conducting training in the field of art, such as painting, making batik and entering into the platform built by the Ministry of Cooperatives that will reach the international community.

Windari, a paint artist with a disability from Buleleng, managed to showcase her work in the G20 side event series. Previously, Windari's paintings were also part of a series of PTI activities in Manokwari and Lake Toba, North Sumatra.

"With her limitations, Windari is still enthusiastic to give the best work," Amy remarked.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the PTI Foundation, Myra Winarko hopes that the government's participation will be able to support PTI's programs, especially those aimed specifically at people with disabilities.

"So, I hope the government will give their support and provide equal opportunities to others," Myra Winarko added.
