VIVA – President of the United States, Joe Biden sends a message of congratulations to commemorate the 77th  anniversary of Indonesian Independence to President Joko Widodo and all Indonesian people. The message was released by the US Embassy in Jakarta.

"Dear Mr. President (Jokowi), on behalf of the United States and the American people, I congratulate you and the people of Indonesia who celebrate Independence Day on August 17," President Joe Biden's said on message to President Jokowi.

In the message, Joe Biden said that the United States and Indonesia have a similar vision, namely Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and E Pluribus Unum.

“As the two largest democracies in the world, the United States and Indonesia celebrate the milestone of independence in the midst of a long-shared history built on a shared vision between the two countries, namely 'Bhinneka Tunggal Ika' and 'E Pluribus Unum'.”

Bhinneka Tunggal Ika means the unity in diversity. Meanwhile, E Pluribus Unum is the motto of the United States. The sentence is taken from Latin and literally means "Out of Many, one.” It means, even though it is diverse or many, it is still one.

In the atmosphere of celebrating the 77th  Independence Day, the President of the United States, Joe Biden hopes to establish cooperation between the two countries.
