Anindya Bakrie Says Indonesia Has Four Strengths to Face Crisis

VIVA – The Bakrie Group family held a ceremony to virtually commemorate Indonesia's 77th Anniversary on August 17, 2022. Anindya Bakrie is optimistic that Indonesia will be able to face various crises after the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Insya Allah, no matter how tough the challenges ahead, Indonesia will continue to walk with caution and vigilance in achieving the shared dream of becoming a developed country that’s strong, physically and mentally," Anindya Bakrie said as quoted from YouTube ANTV Official.

Anindya said Indonesia has four strengths in dealing with various crises such as the health crisis, economic crisis, food crisis, energy and financial crisis.

"Indonesia is able to manage the pandemic well, abundant natural resources, demographic bonuses and sharply increasing international trust," Anindya Bakrie remarked.

If Indonesia is capable of handling the COVID-19 pandemic well, it means that it is able to handle other major challenges and crises well.

According to Anindya Bakrie, Indonesia has a vast territory and abundant resources, the richest biodiversity in the world must be responded to with the responsibility to manage wisely and sustainably.

"The method is downstream and industrialize it domestically so that the added value can be maximized for the national interest, the benefits of which are to provide large job opportunities, increase exports, generate foreign exchange, increase state income and boost economic growth," Anindya Bakrie explained.

Furthermore, Anindya said that Indonesia's demographic bonus is a large population dominated by young people of productive age.

"With people's purchasing power continuing to increase, all of these will become the driving force of the national economy in facing global competition," Anindya Bakrie said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo emphasized that Indonesia is a country capable of facing the current global economic crisis. This is supported by Indonesia's strong economic fundamentals.

President Jokowi explained that the world economy has not fully recovered at this time. The war that erupted between Ukraine and Russia also worsened the recovery conditions for COVID-19. So, food crises, energy crises, and financial crises were unavoidable.
