VIVA – Blitar is known as the largest chocolate-producing city in East Java. It turns out, not only that, Blitar has some incredible beach tourism. Starting from the beautiful panorama and the cool air.

So far, most people visit Blitar for a pilgrimage to the tomb of the First President of Indonesia, Ir. Sukarno but actually the potential for beach tourism in Blitar is quite amazing.

Here are some recommendations for beaches in Blitar that people must visit.

1. Tambakrejo Beach

Tambakrejo Beach has beautiful scenery. This beach offers views of the blue seawater. On the way to this beach, visitors will pass through enchanting green hills.

Arriving at Tambakrejo Beach, visitors can explore three main areas, namely the eastern area which has more sand, the middle area which has many breakwaters, and the western area that used as a fishing boat pier.

The waves on this beach are not too big, so people can swim around the beach. The facilities at Tambakrejo beach are quite complete, ranging from bathrooms, and places of worship, to several seafood restaurants.

2. Peh Pulo Beach

Peh Pulo Beach is located in the village of SumClean, District Panggungrejo. Visitors have to travel as long as 75 minutes from the city center to get to this beach.

When visiting this beach, visitors must pass through hilly roads which are quite energy draining. However, the tiredness will pay off when you arrive at Peh Pulo beach.

Peh Pulo Beach is divided into three small coastal areas, namely Wedhi Ombo, Wedhi Ciut, and Wedhi Kembar. In the middle of the beach, you will find several rocks that serve to break the waves.

Currently, facilities around the beach are not yet available because access is quite difficult. Therefore, don't forget to bring your lunch because there are rarely stalls selling food.

3. Gayasan Beach

Gayasan Beach has a very amazing beach view. This beach is close to Pangi Beach in the east. Unfortunately, the waves at Gayasan beach are still quite large and swimming is prohibited. 

This beach is also natural, but unfortunately, there are no facilities such as toilets, changing rooms, and others.

4. Umbul Waru Beach

Umbul Waru Beach still has difficult road access, making it more suitable for off-road vehicles. When arriving here, visitors still have to go down the cliff through the stairs that have been provided. Tiredness will pay off when people see the beautiful scenery of Umbul Waru Beach.

In addition, there are interesting things on Umbul Waru Beach. Visitors will see a waterfall that flows from the river above the cliff. When the sea water is receding, visitors can walk to the location of the waterfall to witness the natural beauty from a closer distance.

Pangi Beach has a river estuary that forms a brackish lake. This beach is an attractive tourist spot for camping activities. Here, there is a fairly flat area and lots of pine trees overlooking the sea.

6. Jolosutro Beach

Jolosutro Beach is one of the favorite beaches for local people and tourists. Jolosutro Beach offers exotic views. This beach is also surrounded by rocks which make it even more charming.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of culinary delights provided in stalls lined up along the east side of the coast. Usually, on this beach, Hindus will hold a Melasti ceremony ahead of the Nyepi celebration.

7. Gondo Mayit Beach

The name Gondo Mayit beach does look scary but the scenery on this beach is amazing. The beach is located south of the city of Blitar and not many visitors here. Therefore, this beach is perfect for calming the mind with the sound of the waves crashing.

Access to the beach is quite easy. Various types of vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled, can be parked on the beach. For ticket entrance, people should pay Rp5000 for each person.
