VIVA – President Joko Widodo finally gave a response regarding the government's plan to increase the price of fuel oil or subsidized fuel (BBM). According to President Jokowi, government is still considering and calculating the planned increase in subsidized fuel prices.
"For the fuel, everything is still being calculated and today I will tell you about the calculations and calculations," President Joko Widodo remarked in the Tanimbar Islands Regency, Maluku Province on Friday, September 2, 2022.
During his visit to the Tanimbar Islands, President Joko Widodo took the time to distribute Direct Cash Assistance for the transfer of fuel subsidies or BLT BBM to the people of the Tanimbar Islands district.
"Yes, we handed over the BLT BBM that was given in the amount of Rp600,000 for 4 months. Previously, it was submitted for the next 2 months, it has been handed over to the Tanimbar Islands Regency, Maluku Province in Saumlaki," Joko Widodo remarked.

President Joko Widodo hopes with this BLT BBM, it can help the community and can increase people's purchasing power. So that the Indonesian economy can grow.
"We hope that with the injection of BLT BBM, people's purchasing power can be well maintained," President Jokowi said.
As known, the Government has made a policy to provide a number of Government social assistances to the public in order to increase purchasing power due to the tendency of various kinds of price increases amid the threat of the global crisis. The assistance is a form of diversion of fuel subsidies amounting to Rp24.17 trillion.
The first Government social assistance will be given to 20.65 million beneficiary family groups, in the form of direct cash assistance of Rp 12.4 trillion. The assistance will be distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs in the amount of Rp150,000 and will be paid four times.
For the second Government social assistance, in the form of a wage subsidy of Rp600,000 each month, which is given to 16 million workers with a maximum salary of Rp. 3.5 million. For this assistance, the government has prepared a budget of Rp 9.6 trillion.
Furthermore, the regional government will use a budget of two percent of the general transfer funds, namely the General Allocation Fund (DAU) and the Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH) in the form of transportation subsidies.
