According to a report from Times Now News, some locals living close to Amou Haji thought that this man was afraid of water. Meanwhile, other people said he only believed that cleanliness brought disease and he lived his life staying dirty for keeping his body healthy even today.
Surprisingly, Amou Haji is still healthy now, even at the age of almost 90 years with his dirty lifestyle.
Almost all locals believe that Amou Haji had experienced some kind of trauma when he was a teenager that caused him to prefer to isolate himself.
After all, Amou Haji was viewed by others as a completely dirty man and could even be called disgusting. Therefore, he was given the nickname of the dirtiest man in the world.

Apart from never taking a bath, it turns out that Amou Haji also consumes dirty food. Amou Haji is reported to have lived on food that was mostly hunted. He claims that his favorite food is rotten porcupine meat.
Amou Haji could eat fresh food, but he just really didn't like it. Even when the locals tried to give him clean home-cooked food, he refused.
Even though he refuses fresh water and food, he stays hydrated by drinking a gallon of water every day. He collected his water from puddles and drank it from a rusty oil can.
When not eating or drinking, Haji also often sucks animal waste from his pipe. When there is no dirt around, he will feel satisfy with tobacco cigarettes and can smoke up to five cigarettes at a time.
