VIVA – The preparation of telecommunications network infrastructure to support the smooth running of the G20 Summit on November 15 to 16, 2022, has reached 99.1 percent or almost 100 percent. This statement was conveyed by the Director of Network and IT Solution of PT Telkom Indonesia, Herlan Wijanarko.
“There are several parts that will still be completed by the end of October 2022. One is an installation of access points in some locations and several other things. But this is only finalizing," he said during the #G20Update press conference with the theme "Readiness of the Telecommunication Network Infrastructure for the G20 Summit" was held virtually in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
Herlan Wijanarko conveyed his party had run four programs to support connectivity in organizing the G20 Summit.
First, expansion of transport & IP backbone capacity up to 1 Terabyte. Second, prepare broadband access infrastructure with a high level of reliability through dual/triple homing configurations as well as 5/6 generation WIFI technology services in 19 venues.
Third, providing mobile services with 100 percent 4G and 5G coverage in the Bali area supported by 3,656 4G BTS and 24 5G BTS. Fourth, secure the network by implementing the Next Generation Firewall and Anti-DDOS to ensure the reliability and security of the telecommunication network during the G20 Summit event.

PT Telkom also ensures the strengthening of the telecommunications network needs to make a success of the G20 Summit.
"Bali Island has been connected to five submarine cables, three to the west and two to the east. We have also prepared two international gateways, one in Batam and the newest one in Manado. Telkomsel has also prepared 12 BTS Combat. Last month, we also had a rehearsal test and carried out a stress test on the network," Herlan Wijanarko explained.
Human resources and tools to welcome the G20 Summit are also well prepared. In addition to the National Command Center (Jakarta) and Regional Command Center Regional (Surabaya) which operate 7 days 24 hours.
Telkom has specially prepared a Mini Network Operation Center in Nusa Dua, Bali which will operate non-stop from November 1 to 18, 2022.
To oversee the infrastructure, as many as 320 technicians are deployed throughout the venue. Principal experts, onsite engineers, and equipment spare parts from technology owners are also alerted during the G20 Summit later.
