Hylo Open: Three Indonesian Representatives Play in Semifinals

VIVA – The Hylo Open 2022 entered the semifinals on November 5, 2022. The match taking place in Saarbrucken, Germany will present three Indonesian representatives who are ready to play in the semifinals.

Indonesia's mixed doubles representative, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati will play against the representative from France, Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue.

The Indonesian duo have a chance to win the match today and qualify for the final round armed with a victory from the last meeting which took place in the French Open quarter-finals last week. 

"To appear in the semifinals, we have good enough abilities. Previously, at the French Open we also fought them and could overcome them," Rehan said through written information PP PBSI, on Saturday, November 5, 2022.



Rehan said that for the match in this round, he wanted to play without pressure but still maximize.

"For tomorrow's match, we want to play without burden. Besides that, we will play it all-out. Also, the strategy from the start is to immediately press. So, their game does not develop," Rehan remarked.

Apart from Rehan/Lisa, Indonesia still has two representatives who will play in the semifinals, namely Anthony Sinisuka Ginting from the men's singles, and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung from the women's singles sector. 

Anthony Ginting will revenge the defeat of Jonatan Christie from India’s representative, Srikanth Kidambi in the quarterfinals yesterday.



Meanwhile, Gregoria will fight against China's representative, Han Yue. It is known, they have met for the third time. Unfortunately, the last meeting between the two occurred more than four years ago, in the quarterfinals of the 2018 New Zealand Open.
