VIVA – Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, continues to encourage carbon emissions reduction. At the Indonesia Net Zero Summit 2022 in Bali, Anindya Bakrie emphasized that this is a global problem and needs mutual concern.
In his remarks, he also invited investors and also the government to build an innovation ecosystem. To realize a carbon-free future, Anindya Bakrie said that he has talked to many parties, including discussions with President Joko Widodo.
"President Jokowi once asked me, 'Anin, what can we do for the global future?'. Well, it requires mutual concern. So, we discussed with the founders (of the company) including SOEs that support us," Anindya Bakrie said at the Nusa Dua Bali Convention Center, Friday, November 11, 2022.

Moreover, Anindya Bakrie emphasized that zero carbon emissions cannot be done by Indonesia or Saudi Arabia alone. This is a common interest and concern; therefore, the role of investors and the government is considered significant for decarbonization.Â
"Indonesia and Saudi Arabia cannot do it. This is a global problem, a mutual concern," Anindya Bakrie remarked.
Then, Anindya Bakrie explained that the issue of reducing carbon emissions in B20 is needed to increase the scale of the spread of decarbonization not only to business people but the role of governments in each country.
"The reason why we do it in B20 is that we want to increase the scale, not just in terms of money, a lot of money has been invested in this again, but the scale in terms of government is key." Anindya Bakrie stated.
