VIVA – After finishing 21 races in 19 countries, the Formula One World Championship heads into its final series at the Yas Marina Circuit for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (GP) this weekend, November 20, 2022. Some of the renovations made last year at the Yas Marina Circuit have made the route for golden moment of Formula One racers being able to overtake at turn 5 and the new turn 9.

It is known, Yas Marina Circuit has a track length of 5.281 kilometers. Two world titles have been won by Red Bull, and the closing race in Abu Dhabi will be their battleground for second place in the standings.

Finish P4 in Sao Paulo, Charles Leclerc shifted the position of Ergio Perez who finished P7 to third in the standings even though the two drivers both collected 290 points.

In the race for second place in the constructor standings, 19 points separate Ferrari and Mercedes who have just achieved a 1-2 finish in Brazil. While five points are Alfa Romeo's distance from Aston Martin in seventh place.

The Yas Marina Circuit will host the Abu Dhabi GP for the 14th time. The race has held the status of the season-ending series for the 10th time. In 2011-2013 the final race of the year was held in Brazil.

Lewis Hamilton is the most successful rider in Abu Dhabi with five wins. The British racer won in 2011 with McLaren, and in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019 with Mercedes.

Sebastian Vettel follows with three wins, in 2009, 2010, and 2013, all of which he achieved while wearing a Red Bull uniform. Then Max Verstappen tasted the top step of the Abu Dhabi podium for Red Bull in 2020 and 2021.

The other three racers with one win in Abu Dhabi are Kimi Raikkonen (2012, Lotus), Nico Rosberg (2015, Mercedes), and Valtteri Bottas (2017, Mercedes).

Bottas will make his 200th career Grand Prix start this weekend. The Finn made his F1 debut with Williams at the 2013 Australian Grand Prix. Since then, he has earned 10 wins, 67 podiums, and 20 pole positions.

Mercedes has been the most successful constructor at the track with six consecutive wins from 2014-2019.

Hamilton also has the record for most poles at the Yas Marina circuit. His first came in 2009 with McLaren plus his 2012 pole with that team. Since then, he has started three times for Mercedes in Abu Dhabi in 2016, 2018, and 2019.

The Abu Dhabi GP will be Vettel's last race. The four-time world champion will retire after this season ends.

As a matter of fact, Sebastian Vettel holds the record for the most consecutive wins in season of nine, which he set in 2013. Vettel remains the youngest world champion. He won his first world title in 2010 when he was 23 years, according to FIA records.
