Thousands of Participants Join Porpamnas VII 2022

VIVA – In the National Water Company Sports Week (PORPAMNAS) VII competition in 2022, as many as 1,200 people will participate. This competition is not only a means of sport but as a means of recreation and also increases the economic growth in North Sumatra.

It was conveyed by the Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi when opening the 2022 PORPAMNAS at the Multipurpose Building of Medan State University (UNIMED), Willem Iskandar Street, Deli Serdang Regency, on November 22, 2022. Governor Edy also appreciated that this competition took place in Medan City.

"Sport is also a recreational event for joy and also supports the MSME business and others to move. In this competition, 22 contingents came to Medan, and obviously it can drive our economy," Edy Rahmayadi remarked.

Present among others were the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Drinking Water Companies (Perpamsi) Lalu Ahmad Zaini, Forkopimda, OPD, Chairman of KONI North Sumatra, Directors and Directors of water companies throughout Indonesia, also athletes under the auspices of water companies in Indonesia.

According to Edy Rahmayadi, this activity also motivates the younger generation to be more active in sports and become champions, both at national and international events.

"And, I'm sure one of these competitors will be the best. For the referees, I ask to lead the match honestly and fairly," Edy Rahmayadi remarked.

Then, Perpamsi Chairman, Lalu Ahmad Zaini said this PORPAMNAS activity was attended by 1,200 people consisting of athletes, directors, and Perpamsi employees throughout Indonesia who would compete at the UNIMED Multipurpose Building for four days.

According to Ahmad Zaini, this activity was held to establish friendship among fellow Perpamsi, and this activity takes place every five years.

"Because of the Covid pandemic this activity was delayed and for now, Medan City has again been chosen as the host because it is feasible to hold the match," Ahmad Zaini remarked.

In the previous PORPAMNAS, the West Java contingent was the main champion in every match. It is hoped that this year, Medan City as the host can win the overall championship in every sport competed.
