Indonesia Focuses on Five-Point Agreement to Help Myanmar

"So, we want the implementation of the Five-Points of Consensus to be the main platform, the main mechanism of ASEAN's contributes to helping Myanmar out of its political crisis. Furthermore, Minister Retno stated that Indonesia has always conveyed the message to the Myanmar military junta that the implementation of the Five Points of Consensus is the only ASEAN approach to help Myanmar.

Minister Retno also explained that the priority of Indonesia's chairmanship of ASEAN in 2023 is to accelerate the development of the ASEAN community for the benefit of the ASEAN people to move forward. For this reason, Indonesia does not want the Myanmar issue to hold hostage all these processes that are underway in ASEAN.
