VIVA – WhatsApp announces a new feature to allow users to edit messages after they are sending the chat. This feature is the most awaited feature.

"For the moments when you make a mistake or simply change your mind, you can now edit your sent messages on WhatsApp," the Meta Platforms-owned messaging app stated in a blog post on Monday.

So, if you mistakenly send a typo message, send a message to the wrong person or simply change your mind after sending it, you can go back and undo it.

However, with the feature rolling out globally in the coming weeks, senders will be able to modify their messages within 15 minutes of hitting send.

The function can be accessed by long-pressing the message and choosing “edit” in the drop-down menu. The modified message will carry the label “edited”, without showing edit history.

"From correcting simple misspellings to adding extra context to messages, we're excited to give you more control over your chats," WhatsApp stated.

According to this instant messaging app, all users need to do is long-press on a sent message and select 'Edit' from the menu for up to fifteen minutes afterward.

As with all private messages, media, and calls, messages and edits will remain protected by end-to-end encryption.

The popular instant messaging service said the feature has started rolling out to users globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.

As more information, last week, WhatsApp introduced a security feature that allows users to lock and hide 'intimate conversations' with a password.
