Batam – Indonesia's commitment to renewable energy is becoming more evident. This is proven by the increasing number of factories producing raw materials for solar panels.

Most recently, a semiconductor factory was inaugurated. The silicon processing facility is located in Batam, Riau Islands.

The construction of the factory is a follow-up to the investment commitment announced by Mirah Green at the B20 event in Bali in April 2023. Mirah Green, through its subsidiary PT. Tynergy Technology Group (TYNERGY), made the investment commitment.

The investment commitment made amounts to US$140 million to build the first integrated silica processing facility and its derivatives for the semiconductor factory. The facility is located in the Wiraraja Industrial Zone in Batam.

Khadafi Yahya, the Director of TYNERGY, mentioned that the investment made will have a positive impact on Indonesia's future. Currently, the demand for renewable energy is increasing.

"We are building a silica sand smelter for semiconductor raw materials as well as raw materials for solar panels," said Khadafi in company press release, Sunday 11th June 2023.

"This investment represents long-term growth and value creation, empowering Indonesia through renewable energy," he added.

The inauguration of TYNERGY's semiconductor factory was directly signed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, on June 5, 2023. The event was also attended by the Governor of the Riau Islands Province, Ansar Ahmad.
