Jakarta – The Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Service (Dishub), Syafrin Liputo conveyed that artificial intelligence (AI) becomes solutions for congestion at 20 intersections in Jakarta.
"So, there are twenty intersections that have implemented AI principles with intelligent transport systems at traffic lights," Liputo said on Sunday.
According to him, AI can assist in traffic monitoring and adjust traffic light timings based on information from Google's database.
An AI-based application can also enhance the traffic management system and calculate the actual traffic volumes at the intersections. With the help of this technology, the Jakarta Transportation Service can determine the ratio between road capacity and traffic density.

"The traffic lights can identify which section is more congested and prioritize longer green lights for that congested spot," Liputo informed.
As information that this year, the Transportation Service plans to implement similar technology at an additional 40 intersections in the capital city.
So, here are the 20 intersections supported by AI are located at:

3. S Parman Road-Tomang Raya Road
4. S Parman Road-K.S Tubun Road-Gatot Subroto (Slipi) Road
5. Gatot Subroto Road-Rasuna Said (Kuningan) Road
6. Gatot Subroto Road-Supomo (Pancoran) Road
7. MT Haryono Road-Sutoyo Road
8. D.I Panjaitan Road-Kalimalang Road
9. Ahmad Yani Road-Utan Kayu Road
10. Ahmad Yani Road-Pemuda Road-Pramuka Road
11. Ahmad Yani Road-H. Ten Road
