Jakarta – For anyone who dare to use the ad blockers on YouTube then this application will stop working after playing three videos. This was first discovered by a Reddit user, which was later confirmed by YouTube.
The Google subsidiary said that it is testing this feature internally to discourage users from using ad blockers on video apps.
"We're running a small experiment globally that encourages viewers with ad blockers enabled to allow ads on YouTube or try YouTube Premium. Ad blocker detection is nothing new, and other publishers regularly ask viewers to disable ad blockers," said Google Spokesperson Oluwa Falodun.
According to Falodun, ad blockers violate YouTube's Terms of Service, explaining that affected users will receive 'recurring notifications' asking them to allow ads on the platform.

"Playback disabling will occur and will only disable playback if the viewer ignores repeated requests to allow ads on YouTube," Falodun said.
If viewers feel they have been wrongly flagged using an ad blocker, they can share it in the feedback by clicking on the link in the prompt.
In September 2022, YouTube experimented with up to 10 non-skippable clicks in a single ad break. Then, in May this year, they announced that 30-second ads were coming to the TV platform.
This left many users disappointed. YouTube then offered a Premium subscription for users who wanted to enjoy ad-free videos.
Recent experiments show that YouTube is strengthening its stance against ad blockers. "We want to let our viewers know that ad blockers violate YouTube's Terms of Service. Users can try YouTube Premium to have an ad-free experience," Falodun explained.
