Passenger Train and Truck Collide in Semarang Causing Huge Explosion

Semarang – A passenger train, Brantas bound for Jakarta-Blitar crashed into a trailer truck at the level crossing on Jalan Madukoro, West Semarang on Tuesday night.Â
Based on a 51-second-duration video circulating on the internet, the collision had caused quite an explosion when the train's locomotive hit the head of the trailer truck that was traveling from north to south.
The trailer truck, which did not carry any load during the incident, was dragged about 50 meters from the crossing.
One of the train passengers named Dimas said that he did not know the exact cause as to why the collision occurred, he only heard a loud crash and then the train suddenly stopped.

It is known for now, Police have said there were no fatalities in the accident. However, there was one passenger who suffered minor injuries after jumping from the carriage.
"There were no casualties, but there was one person who suffered injuries after jumping from the train," Semarang Police Chief Commissioner Irwan Anwar said.Â
Kereta Api Indonesia VP Public Relation Joni Martinus said there was damage to facilities and infrastructure as well as delays in train travel due to the incident.
"There were no casualties in the incident. The driver, assistant driver, and passengers are safe," Martinus stated.Â
