Jakarta – The owner of Twitter, Elon Musk announced on Monday that he will rebrand Twitter, and change the iconic blue bird logo into an interim "X" logo.
"And soon we shall bid adie to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds," Musk wrote through his account Twitter on Monday.
Meanwhile, last october, he said that buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app.
Twitter is thought to have around 200 million daily active users but it has suffered repeated technical failures since the tycoon bought the so-called bird app for $44bn in 2022 and sacked much of its staff.
Since then, many users and advertisers alike have soured on the social media site due to charges introduced for previously free services, changes to content moderation, and the return of previously banned right-wing accounts.

Furthermore, Mike Proulx as Research Director at Forrester says that this move will further alienate Twitter's once-loyal user base.
"On the one hand, you could argue that he's getting rid of an iconic brand. On the other hand, it signals that it's a new day where the company is going in a different direction with a different user base," he explained.
Then, Twitter's new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, tweeted that it was a rare thing that the company would get a second chance to make a big impression.
"Twitter has made one big impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go even further, changing the global town square," she said.
Under Musk's tumultuous leadership since he bought Twitter in October, the company has changed its business name to X Corp, reflecting the billionaire's vision of creating a WeChat-like super app.
In April, Twitter's legacy blue bird logo was temporarily replaced by Dogecoin's Shiba Inu dog, which helped fuel a surge in crypto market value.
