Indonesia was chosen to host the ARF Cup because the sport is growing rapidly in the country.

Indonesia's success in hosting the ARF Cup can't be separated from the role of the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Roundnet Sports Association (PORSI), Genta Fajar Heriawan. He's also the pioneer of this sport in the country.

"The main purpose of this event is not only for Indonesia to make history as the host of the first Roundnet Asia Cup, but another important part is to support the socialization program and socialize this sport throughout Indonesia," Heriawan said on Tuesday.

"With the Indonesian Roundnet national team along with national teams from other countries, it's belived that it will make Roundnet more popular," he remarked.

He continued that it can help the great work of PORSI as the official sports, which is currently in the process of forming provincial administrators to fulfill administrative requirements from KONI to become an official member.

"So, roundnet can immediately become the next sport of achievement," he said.

Apart from Indonesia, there are five countries that have confirmed themselves to participate in the ARF Cup such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Japan and Australia.

Meanwhile, other countries such as India, Jordan, Korea, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are still waiting for confirmation. Meanwhile, there will be three classes competed in the ARF Cup. Among them, Men's Squad, Women's Squad, and Mixed Squad.

"To add to the excitement, there will also be an open tournament on September 23, 2023 for individual teams," PORSI Secretary General Parto Bangun stated.

"This event is deliberately held to accommodate the interest of roundnet players from all over the world who are not national teams who want to attend and participate in the tournament. This event will be attractively packaged under the name Bali International Roundnet Festival 2023," he added.
