Tangerang – The automaker from China, Chery expanded its lineup in Indonesia with the addition of the Omoda 5 GT, a high-performance version and more aggressive engine than the Omoda 5.
The Executive President of Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI), Qu Jizong revealed that the Omoda 5 GT has aggressive engine power, high technology, and complete safety that provides comfort on the road.
"It's great that we can finally present the latest variant of the Chery Omoda 5, named the Omoda 5 GT, which will accompany your travel with outstanding performance as a result of the latest engine development from Chery," said Jizong at the Omoda 5 GT launch event, at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Friday.
The highlight of the Omoda 5 GT SUV crossover is the machine, which uses a 1,600cc TGDI (Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection) engine that is capable of producing a maximum power of 197 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque.
Then, this car has an exterior design that is different from its the earlier Omoda 5 variant, this car has the Omoda logo as an emblem on the hood at the front and also at the car rear.
On the GT type, an iconic orange color is present on the alloy wheels, front bumper, and others.

The Vice President of Chery Sales Indonesia, Harry Komara infromed the orange color gives a fresh, modern, and sporty impression.
"The presence of orange stripes on several parts of the car body symbolizes greater energy and sporty,” said Harry Komara, on the same occasion.
Furthermore, the Omoda 5 GT comes with two variants, namely Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and All Wheel Drive (AWD).
Although both variants have the same engine power, there are some differences; the AWD variant has six driving modes that can be adapted to various road conditions in Indonesia.
Starting from Normal and ECO modes for public roads, then the aggressive Sport mode suitable for toll roads, the Gravel mode option for rocky roads, Mud mode for muddy roads, and Off-Road mode to go through more textured road types.
Chery Omoda 5 GT has earned a five-star safety certification from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) which is now considered the most important standard in safety driving.
The ADAS feature on the Omoda 5 GT gives a futuristic design on this crossover SUV, with the addition of the L2+ Autonomous Driving System that supports driving performance.
The Omoda 5 GT also comes with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist System, Brake Override System, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), TCS (Traction Control), Hill-start Assist Control, and Hill Descent Control.
Chery Indonesia announced the FWD variant Omoda 5 GT would start at IDR 448 million, and the AWD variant would start at IDR 448 million.
