Jakarta – Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) on Sunday broke the Whoosh fast train record with 21,312 passengers in a day after increasing the schedule to 36 trips.
"With details, 28 regular trips and 8 additional trips," KCIC General Manager of Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa said in a statement on Monday.
Chairunisa ensured that the passenger volume figure of up to 21,312 people was the highest transportation performance achievement during the operation of the Whoosh Fast Train.

Earlier, the highest passenger volume occurred on November 11, which reached as many as 20 thousand passengers, and 18 thousand passengers on November 4, 2023.
Compared to last week, Chairunisa said there had been an increase in the number of Whoosh fast train passengers by 18 percent, or as many as 3,259 passengers. Meanwhile, in terms of the number of trips, there was an increase in the number of trips by 12 percent.
"From 32 trips on November 4 to 36 trips on November 11 and 12,"
This increase in the number of passengers occurred, along with an increase in the number of trips on weekends, Chairunisa added.
Moreover, the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train is now one of the preferred modes of transportation for the public, to travel Jakarta-Bandung and vice versa.

Based on the data of tickets sold, of the 21,312 passengers, 497 passengers, or 2.3 percent were first class passengers, 886 passengers, or 4.2 percent of business class passengers, and 19,929 passengers, or 93.5 percent of premium economy class passengers.
The average occupancy of each trip reaches 98.5 percent, where on certain schedules the occupancy can even reach 100 percent or sold out.
Therefore, by looking at the high passenger demand, KCIC also periodically conducts evaluations, especially regarding the schedule and number of train trips.
"KCIC hopes that in the future passengers will continue to be high and more people will be helped by the presence of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train, including improvements in various sectors such as tourism, MSMEs, and others," she expressed.
