Sumatra – Head of the Padang City SAR Office, West Sumatra Abdul Malik confirmed 11 climbers killed after the eruption of the Mount Marapi in West Sumatra on Sunday.
A rescue official said three people were found alive on the volcano and at least 12 climbers were still missing. Another official put the number of missing at 22.
"Until 07:10 a.m. local time, the joint team managed to find three survivors and 11 people died," Head of Padang SAR Office Abdul Malik said in Padang on Monday.

Malik stated the number of survivors recorded by the joint team was 75 people, 49 of whom were successfully evacuated safely.
Some of the climbers who were successfully evacuated were taken to hospitals in Bukittinggi City and Padang Panjang City for intensive care. Meanwhile, some climbers have returned to their respective homes.
"Currently the team is still in the process of evacuating from the top of Mount Marapi to the bottom," he informed.
Regarding the 11 dead victims, Padang SAR has not been able to provide the identity of the victims because it is still in the data collection stage.
Based on Padang SAR data, 49 climbers have been evacuated and have descended, namely Iqbal, Jeni, Toni Alifian, Al Fajri, Selastri Anggini, Nur Rizki, Muhammad Suyudi, Shadam Romeigo, Adipatiawarman, Muhammad Alif, Lingga Duta Andrefa, Muhammad Iman Ewaldo, Elika Maharani, Dewi Anggraini, and Naomi Johana Simanjuntak.
