Despite having achieved much success, Davis has never won the undisputed lightweight world title or become unified champion.
With Devin Haney leaving the division in 2023, the opportunity for Davis to accomplish that feat is increasingly open. Davis' last fight was in April, where he managed to achieve a TKO victory over Ryan Garcia.
While his future opponents remain uncertain, there have been rumors of a possible rematch with Garcia or a potential fight against a fighter like Haney or Shakur Stevenson.Â
As the newly crowned WBA lightweight champion, Davis is expected to defend his title in 2024.
Davis' decision to convert to Islam received a warm response from the Islamic community, with various congratulations and welcomes.
The news about Davis' conversion adds to the list of famous athletes who have chosen to convert to Islam, such as Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Bernard Hopkins and others who have had a significant impact in the world of sports and outside the boxing ring.
