Jakarta – Lewis Hamilton's transfer to Ferrari is keeping spirits high. It was previously reported that the Briton would be cut back against his salary at Mercedes, but according to an Italian medium, his income is said to be going up sharply, to over $100 million or IDR1,6 billion a year.
From 2025, Lewis Hamilton will take a seat in the Ferrari alongside Charles Leclerc. For years there were rumours about the transfer and last Thursday it became reality.
According to Formu1a.uno, Ferrari's president in particular was a key player in securing this deal. John Elkann has always been a fan of Hamilton and there is a direct relationship between the two, based on friendship and appreciation.
The Ferrari president always wanted to bring the multiple world champion to Italy and everything has reportedly come out of his will. After years of sporadic meetings, Elkann wanted to get closer to the English driver.
Frederic Vasseur played an important role in this. He already knew Hamilton from the youth category. Hamilton has a lot to bring to Ferrari. In addition to all his years of experience and his great commercial value, the Briton is also very concerned with social values, such as diversity and inclusion.
Ferrari embraces these initiatives. Including salary, sponsors, image rights, bonuses and more, Lewis Hamilton will earn more than $100 million a year. This is converted to 79.2 million pounds. This will make him the highest-paid Scuderia Ferrari driver ever.
