Jakarta – The Chinese Lunar New Year of 2024 will fall on Saturday, February 10, marking the beginning of the Year of the Dragon. This year is said to be highly auspicious in Chinese astrology.
In Chinese culture, the Dragon symbolizes talent, strength, and excellence, meaning that 2024 is predicted to be a year of change, opportunities, and challenges.
The Dragon is the fifth animal out of twelve in the Chinese zodiac, which also includes the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

Among all the animals, the dragon is the only mythical creature revered. People born in this year are considered confident, charismatic, strong, intelligent, and naturally lucky.
In ancient times, the dragon was a symbol reserved for the Chinese emperor and was considered a highly auspicious sign. The New Year, traditionally celebrated for 15 days, is the longest and most important holiday among Chinese holidays.
Just like New Year in Western culture, the festival begins on the first day of the first month in the Chinese calendar. The celebration ends on the date of the full moon.
