Italy – The former Roma star Zibi Boniek says Jose Mourinho's dismissal shouldn't hurt his legacy with the club. The Pole can understand Roma changing Mourinho for Daniele de Rossi.
"By changing little you can achieve a lot sometimes. We had Mourinho, the best coach of the last 20 years, but there was too much nervousness from the bench and the players felt this," He said on Tele Radio Stereo.
"We needed to open the door and change the atmosphere. Now it seems to me there is a different atmosphere, Daniele brought serenity and made the players believe that they are good again,"

De Rossi has successfully proven himself worthy of the trust from Roma's management to replace Mourinho. The club has won three consecutive matches.
First, Roma managed to win 2-1 when hosting Hellas Verona. The same score victory was achieved when they visited Salernitana. Third, Roma won by four goals without conceding against Cagliari.
Boniek referred to these match results to praise De Rossi's Roma. However, he reminded that the real test would come against Inter Milan on February 11, 2024.
