Jakarta – WhatsApp, the instant messaging platform, is introducing a series of new features aimed at enhancing the overall user experience. Among these additions is the much-anticipated "search-by-date" feature, recently announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
The new feature allows users to streamline their chat experience by enabling them to search for specific messages based on dates.
This functionality comes as a boon for users who often find themselves struggling to recall specific phrases but remember the approximate time when the conversation occurred.

"Just select the desired date, and users can immediately view all messages sent on that day. The message search feature based on dates is very useful if you want to reread a message that made you smile. Or, it can also be used to confirm when you sent information to someone. With this feature, browsing through your private conversations becomes easier," he said in a statement on Thursday.
The message search feature based on dates has been rolled out gradually for Android devices and is already available on iOS, Mac desktop, and WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com). You just need to follow these easy steps:
- Click on a conversation.
- Tap on the contact or group name at the top.
- Click 'Search' to read messages on the date you want
You can also search through your WhatsApp conversations to find media, links, and documents. This feature is very simple for finding specific photos that you've sent to a group:
