Jakarta – Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Contingent for the Paris 2024 Olympics, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, announced seven athletes have successfully made it to the prestigious event, which will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
These athletes include Arif Dwi Pangestu and Diananda Choirunisa from the archery discipline, Rifda Irfanaluthfi from artistic gymnastics, Rahmad Adi Mulyono from sport climbing, and Fathur Gustafian from men's shooting.
Furthermore, Desak Made Rita Kusuma from women's sport climbing and Rio Waida from men's surfing have also qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics through the qualification process.
Anindya Bakrie expressed his hope for an increase in the number of Indonesian athletes qualifying for the 2024 Olympics, considering that several sports are still in the qualification process.
"We are grateful that many have already qualified, but we hope for more because this competition is still ongoing," Bakrie stated on Monday.
He emphasized that the Paris Olympics is a journey for athletes and all those who provide the best support throughout the qualification process and competitions.
"This is a long journey so that we can uphold Indonesia's good name. Therefore, together we can achieve our goals at the Paris Olympics," Bakrie remarked.
"This involves the sports team, or collective collaboration, because it is impossible to solely rely on the athletes to compete. Instead, we all need to work collaboratively to achieve our goals," he concluded.
