Anindya Bakrie Elected Kadin Chairman, Vows Closer Ties with Businesses

Jakarta, VIVA – The newly elected Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, emphasized that he's  ready to work with not only the groups that supported him but also others.

"I'm always open, both to the Regional Kadin, Associations, and the leadership, but also to others as well," Bakrie said in Jakarta on Sunday (Sept 15).

According to him, Kadin’s goal is not only to unify the business community but also to be inclusive and open to those who are not yet part of it.

Anindya Bakrie also expressed optimism that Kadin, under his leadership, can advance Indonesia’s economy and help achieve the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

Bakrie Revealed Obstacles in Indonesia-EU Trade Relations

"During our discussions yesterday, we saw there was a lot of hope, not just from Kadin here (pro-Anindya Bakrie groups). We must embrace as many friends in the business world as possible," he stated.

Earlier, Anindya Bakrie also expressed his readiness to collaborate with the government and strengthen their partnership.

"Kadin has been a strategic partner of President Joko Widodo's government for 10 years, and we will continue to be so with the next government," he said, in the separate occassion.

With strong cooperation between the government and business players, Indonesia is expected to achieve an 8 percent annual economic growth rate, Bakrie added.

"To reach this target, we need to focus on all sectors, from domestic consumption and government expenditure to investment programs," he concluded.
