West Nusa Tenggara, VIVA – Aviation Tourism Indonesia, also known as InJourney, successfully hosted the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia (MotoGP) 2024 at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Maya Watono, Director of Marketing and Tourism Programs at InJourney, stated that this year's target is based on the economic impact of MotoGP 2023, which reached up to IDR 4.3 trillion.

Watono is optimistic that the 2024 MotoGP will surpass this achievement as the number of spectators exceeded 110,000 people.

She ensured that they are not only relying on international tourist visits but also on domestic motorsport fans.

"This year, the target is around IDR 4.5 trillion with more focus on the regional area, such as visitors from Lombok or NTB," Watono said in a statement on Monday (Sept 30).

Similarly, Ari Respati, President Director of Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), mentioned that various improvements have been made to increase domestic and international tourist visits.

"These include improvements to the circuit infrastructure and the integrated electricity system. There's also been an increase in human resources, such as job creation," Respati remarked.

Additionally, this has also led to economic impacts for MSMEs, a multiplier effect, and other derived benefits.

Moreover, this year's international motorcycle racing event has become more attractive with a parade of riders involving as many as 25,000 people.

"This parade was the first of its kind in Indonesia and the world. Many people came to Mataram, and the interaction with the riders on September 25 was very close," he stated.

Furthermore, several suggestions have been continuously conveyed by Dorna Sports, S.L., the commercial rights holder for MotoGP.

"For example, in terms of commercial achievements in this year's MotoGP event," he concluded.
