Prabowo to Donate 20,000 Hectares for Aceh Elephant Conservation

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will donate 20,000 hectares of land for elephant conservation.
This commitment was conveyed by President Prabowo when he met with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in London, England, which was then reported to ministers and heads of agencies at a plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, on Monday (Dec 2).

Head of the Presidential Communications Office/PCO Hasan Nasbi said the meeting took place when Prabowo met King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, London, England, some time ago.
"And the President when he met with the King of England, there was also WWF there, then WWF asked Mr. Prabowo to have a conservation area for elephants," said Nasbi after a plenary cabinet meeting, Monday.
Initially, WWF requested 10,000 hectares of land in the Aceh region, Nasbi remarked.
However, the president increased it to 20,000 hectares. Later, the elephant conservation will be managed by WWF.
"At that time, 10,000 hectares were requested in Aceh for the elephant conservation area. the President then said no 10,000. And, he to donate 20,000 hectares of his land for elephant conservation," Nasbi explained.
The meeting with several parties in England was one of the things conveyed by President Prabowo in the plenary cabinet meeting.
