Additional IDR 8.1 Trillion Allocated for IKN Development

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has agreed that the budget for the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) will not be cut but instead increased by IDR 8.1 trillion, bringing the total budget for IKN development to IDR 14.4 trillion.

Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), stated that the initial budget of Rp6.3 trillion was allocated to begin the construction of the judicial and legislative sectors.

However, this budget has now been increased by IDR 8.1 trillion and has been approved by President Prabowo.

"So later, we will send a letter—we have already been asked to correspond with the Finance Minister—to adjust it to the amount approved by the President: IDR 6.3 trillion plus Rp8.1 trillion," Hadimuljono stated on Tuesday (Feb 4).

The cost-saving policy set by head of stated in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 initially impacted the OIKN budget for this year.

The planned budget cut was originally set at IDR 4.8 trillion. However, he confirmed that the OIKN budget allocation for this year would not be reduced following a meeting.

As a result, the budget allocated for OIKN this year stands at IDR 14.4 trillion. This funding is part of the IDR 48.8 trillion allocated by the President for IKN development during the 2025–2029 period.

President Prabowo Subianto has also approved the design of the legislative district buildings in IKN, which was proposed by the Head of OIKN and his team.

"The design for the legislative building, especially for the plenary hall, has been approved by the President. It is now being finalized, and we will conduct further consultations with him through minister AHY," Hadimuljono concluded.
