Bakrie explained that the United Kingdom’s interest in partnering with Indonesia aligns with the establishment of the Investment Management Agency Daya Anagata Nusantara, also known as Danantara.

"Given that the UK is renowned for its pension funds and mutual funds listed on the London Stock Exchange, they could potentially be part of this initiative. They're also paying close attention to Danantara, which is set to make an announcement by the end of the month," said Bakrie at Jakarta on Tuesday (Feb 11).

Bakrie highlighted that the UK delegation's interest is largely driven by the management model of Danantara.

As known, Danantara will manage and optimize the assets of seven state-owned enterprises (SOEs) with significant assets in Indonesia.

He then emphasized that the government’s initiative has garnered significant attention, with the UK showing serious interest in response.

"This initiative by the government has become a noteworthy point, and they (the UK) are taking it seriously. Earlier, there was also a meeting with the Australian Prime Minister’s special envoy," he added.

On the other hand, during the meeting, Bakrie mentioned that discussions also covered cooperation between the two nations, including financing and the health sector.

"In healthcare, for instance, the free health check-up program for 25 million people could generate an extraordinary database. Additionally, early detection efforts could hopefully lead to longer life expectancy and a stronger economy," he concluded.
