Google Maps Adds Real-Time KRL and Train Schedule Features for Easier Travel

Jakarta, VIVA – Google Maps is making travel easier by introducing a real-time train tracking feature for KRL Jabodetabek and long-distance trains.
With this feature, users can track train positions live, including information on delays and route details.
Galuh Rohmah, Strategic Partnerships Development Manager at Google Maps Indonesia, stated that this new feature is already available in time for Ramadan.
"Now, Google Maps users can access real-time train movement updates. They can see exactly where the train is and when it will arrive at their station," Rohmah said in Jakarta.

This feature is not limited to Ramadan and is planned to continue in the future, "To be clear, this real-time feature will not disappear after Ramadan,"
Google Maps also provides long-distance train information, including train names, departure and arrival stations, and schedules. Even extra trains added during the Eid travel season can be tracked on the platform.
"During the Eid exodus, KAI usually operates additional train schedules, and all of this information will appear on Google Maps. This helps travelers plan their journeys more efficiently," Rohmah remarked.
Beyond public transportation, Google Maps is collaborating with various agencies to provide accurate navigation for private vehicle users traveling home for Eid.
Partners in this collaboration include the National Police, Jasa Marga, Korlantas, and the Ministry of Transportation.
According to her, Google will hold a coordination meeting with these agencies on March 11, 2025.
This meeting will discuss crucial data to assist travelers, including traffic engineering strategies, contra-flow implementation, new toll road openings, and other key updates for the peak Eid travel period.
