VIVAnews – The Search and Rescue (SAR) team today managed to see firsthand the location where the CASA 212-200 aircraft fell, on the slopes of Bahorok, Langkat regency, North Sumatra.
The aircraft owned by PT. Buana Nusantara Water (NBA) was found having crashed among the trees, Friday. It crashed at 03 degrees 23 minutes 80 seconds north latitude and 09 degrees 80 minutes 21 seconds east longitude.
The muzzle of the aircraft appeared devastated. Both wings appeared splintered. In spite of the condition of the aircraft, the team could not see any passengers from the air monitoring.
The evacuation team that found the body of the aircraft carrying 18 passengers could not go down to the crash site. This is because weather conditions at the site was still bad. But, it is confirmed that the team was still trying to go down to the scene for evacuation.
The CASA 212-200 aircraft crashed during a flight from Polonia Airport, Medan heading to Kutacane, Aceh, Thursday morning.
