Indonesia Seals Deal with International KPK

VIVAnews - United Nations Anti-Corruption Conference kicked off on Monday in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) made use of the forum to seal partnership with the anti-graft commissions of several Asian countries.

"We were mostly setting up bilateral meetings with the alike commissions," said KPK temporary chief Mas Achmad Santosa on Wednesday, Nov 11.

Mas Achmad explained that KPK had met the Thai National Anti-Corruption Commission, Korean Anti-Corruption and Civil Right Commission, Philippine Ombudsman and Anti-Corruption Commission and Minister of Supervision/National Bureau of Corruption Prevention of China.

The bilateral meeting is highlighted on improving the cooperation amongst international partners.

"[The meeting] is aimed at discussing the measures in safeguarding the KPK's autonomy in the region as a prerequisite in successfully eradicating corruption," he said. KPK in the forum focused on prevention programs and asset recovery.
