Bloggers Should Donate Blood: Jusuf Kalla

VIVAnews - Former Indonesian vice president has been a strong campaigner on blood donation since he was appointed the chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross.

During a meeting with some bloggers from Kompasiana.com at the Indonesian Red Cross HQs in Central Jakarta on Monday, Feb 22, Kalla prompted the bloggers to donate their blood.

"Our blood donors are less than 2 millions per year. That is way too small a number. We need more volunteers and donors," said Kalla.

Kalla and the bloggers will be discussing about the challenges and chances the Indonesian Red Cross might be dealing with in the future.

Kalla said he would lead the Indonesian Red Cross to get more donors by holding blood-donation events in shopping malls and offices.
