List of Infrastructure Projects This Year

VIVAnews - The Indonesian government will be prioritizing infrastructure development in 2011, provided fund allocation of around Rp 126 trillion (US$14 billion).

Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa said the projects have been most expected by the public. The following are some of the plans:

1. National road preservation of 35,058.94 km in length.

2. Bridge preservation of 121,026.71 m in length.

3. Set up of Jabodetabek Transportation Authority (JTA).

4. Expansion of toll road capacity by 120.35 km.

5. Land acquisition for toll Trans Jawa toll road construction.

6. Revision and updates on Jabodetabek transportation master plan.

7. MRT construction of Lebak Bulus - Hotel Indonesia route.

8. Tender offer of Monorail project.

9. Double railway tracks of Prupuk - Purwokerto, Cirebon - Prupuk, Purwokerto - Kroya, Kutoarjo - Kroya routes.

10. Expansion of Ahmad Yani (Semarang), Samarinda Baru, Ngurah Rai, Sorong, Maluku and Papua airports.

11. Completion of Tampa Padang (Mamuju) and Lombok international airports.

Meanwhile, the on-going projects for the time being include steam-based power plant, water supplier, and Medan-Kuala Namu-Tebing Tinggi toll roads.

Water resources infrastructure will also emphasize river management across the nation.
