VIVAnews - State electricity company PLN is ready to have Rp 8.9 trillion of investment to develop electricity projects in western Indonesia including Sumatra and West Kalimantan.

PLN Senior Manager of Corporate Communications, Bambang Dwiyanto, said the financing will be taken from the company's budget of Rp 6.25 trillion. The remaining Rp 2.65 trillion was from the State Budget.

"In addition to developing electricity power plants and transmission network, we're also investing on the development of substations as well as the expansion of electricity services," Bambang Dwiyanto told VIVAnews in Jakarta today. Jan 7.

The power plant development in western Indonesia, according to Bambang, will aim at seven projects in North Sumatra, Riau Islands, West Sumatra, Bangka-Belitung, Lampung and West Kalimantan.

"Some of the power plants are expected to be active this year," he said.
