VIVAnews - Banking industry grows in a considerable rate within the last few years. The national banking booked profit by 20.73 percent in the first three months of 2011 to Rp18.32 trillion.

Research bureau InfoBank recorded that banks' profits in 2010 grew 39.38 percent to Rp60.79 trillion compared to 2010. Most of the 121 banks existing in Indonesia recorded positive profits.

InfoBank Director of Research Bureau, Eko B. Supriyanto, said the growth in national banking was possible due to fine margin of net profit.

In addition, the growth rate of rural banks keeps decreasing. "Eight percent of 1,706 rural banks are not in top performance," he said.

Meanwhile, most banking fraud applies traditional methods.

He said there are five crimes that have frequently taken place in banks: fund offers, loan supplies, accounting and other services.
