VIVAnews - This lesson focuses on the phrases for making offers and requests. With the topic of food, the context for this lesson is ‘Eating Out’.

There is a basic language structure for offers and requests as well as for acceptance or rejection of the offers and requests. For both, we need to think of formality –how close we are to or what relationship we have with the other person.

Formal Language is used when our relationship with that person is new or distant. More informal language can be used with people we know well and are familiar with. For both cases, our language should be polite.
