Total Cuts Mahakam Gas Production Target

VIVAnews - The France-based oil and gas company, Total Indonesia, lowered their gas production to 130 million metric standard cubic foot per day (MMSCFD) from the previous target of 2,600 MMSCFD at Mahakam Block, East Kalimantan.

The president director of Total E&P Indonesia Elisabeth Proust said that it was caused by the cut on LNG demand in Bontang refinery, East Kalimantan. "We hope that there will not be any further decline in this year," she said in Jakarta on Monday, April 13.

Proust said that the LNG excess of Bontang refinery will be sent to Fujian, China, as a temporary substitute since the shipment covering two cargoes from Tangguh was delayed.

Each of the LNG cargo will be sent in April and May. "Later, Tangguh will return the two cargoes of LNG to Bontang. It's just a gas exchange," she added.
