Secret Meeting Between Megawati & Prabowo

VIVAnews - Not all of the meetings regarding the coalition between political parties before the upcoming 2009 presidential election were covered by the media.

Head of Campaign Team of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Tjahjo Kumolo, gave a surprising answer when he was asked about the meeting between Megawati Soekarnoputri and Prabowo Subianto held today.

"Ms Mega met Mr Prabowo and the media missed that", Kumolo said at Megawati's house on Jalan Teuku Umar, in Jakarta on Thursday, April 30.

The meeting, said Kumolo, was meant to be a secret. "They talked personally, one on one", he added.

Earlier, PDIP Head of Advisory Board, Taufiq Kiemas, said Mega and Prabowo's meeting would be held on Thursday, April 30. The meeting would not be held on Jalan Teuku Umar but in PDIP Central Board's office in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta.

During PDIP National Board Meeting, 33 PDIP Regional Executive Council members suggested Prabowo to pair up with Megawati.

Chairman of the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party, Suhardi, said during PDIP National Board Meeting V, that Prabowo was suggested by all of PDIP's regional officials in 33 provinces.
