July Records Lowest Inflation by 2.71 Pct

VIVAnews - The government claimed that price stability, especially on primary goods, has been well controlled. The fact was based on the yearly inflation (July 2009 against July 2008) which was recorded 2.71 percent.

In fact, the annual inflation in June 2009 was still at 3.65 percent.

"The government guards inflation at the low point. Up until July 2009, the year-on-year inflation rate reached 2.71 percent, which was considered the lowest since 2000," said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during the announcement of the 2010 State Budget and Financial Statement at the parliamentary complex on Monday, July 3.

"In June 2009, the inflation was 0.11 percent. The inflation rate in the calendar year (January-June) 2009 reached 0.21 percent, while the year-on-year inflation rate hit 3.65 percent.
