VIVAnews - PT Mandala Airlines will suspend flights for 45 days as the company deals with debt problems. Managing Director of Mandala Airlines, Diono Nurjadin, said the cessation will be in line with the proposed debt repayment period given by the Central Jakarta Court of Commerce.
"[The company] will suspend operation for 45 days," said Diono on Wednesday, Jan 12.
Director General of Air Transportation, Herry Bakti, said Mandala struggles with internal problems.
The aviation firm experiences default as regards payment of aircraft renting.
Mandala for the time being operates five Airbus aircrafts rented from a foreign company.
Mandala Airlines is well-known as a low-cost carrier. It was established in 1969. Some decades later in 2006, Mandala was acquired by Cardig International and Indigo Partners.
