VIVAnews - The Indonesian government says the rupiah depreciation is mostly affected by the worsening global economy.
Finance Minister, Agus Martowardojo, said the European bailout as well as recapitalization processes worldwide set aside negative effects toward the market.
Minister Agus emphasized the solid state of the Indonesian economy given promising appreciation of the investors.
"When we issue global sharia bonds, we have better pricing despite the fact that no investment grade is rated on us," he said.
He believed the rupiah depreciation will not last long as the national economic fundamentals are positive.
