US-based KFC Expands More in Indonesia

VIVAnews – PT Fast Food Tbk, the owner of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Indonesia plans to add their fast food outlets of 20-30 units nationwide.  To make possible the scheme, the company sets a budget of Rp150 billion to Rp200 billion. 

The plan was revealed by the General Manager of PT Fast Food Tbk, Gandhy Lie, during the signing of memorandum of understanding with PT Bank Mandiri Tbk in KFC Kemang outlet, Jakarta, Dec 6. 

Gandhy said that one new outlet will cost Rp6 billion to Rp7 billion.  The company said that this year it has established 30 new KFC outlets, thus adding the total of 460 to 470 outlets. 

From the company’s research, several islands in general have the largest amount of KFC outlets in Java, Jakarta, Sumatera and Kalimantan.  

“Remote areas offer huge business chances. They have recorded great business development throughout the archipelago,” he said. 

Gandhy admitted that almost all of their raw materials were sourced from local products.  

“Even right now, I am wearing local batik,” he said. 

Fast Food claimed that the company has the largest fast food market in Indonesia.  KFC’s market is estimated to exceed 50 percent of similar market.
